001 Preparing for Installer Recertification
This session will give attendees space to complete labs that are directly related to the OnBase Installer Recertification exam. There will be an OnBase Trainer available for questions during this self-directed workshop. This class does not count towards certification and the exam will not be delivered during this session. This session will use the latest version of OnBase.

You must be an OnBase Certified Installer in order to attend this session.

002 Basic Solutions with WorkView
In this course we will explore the fundamentals of WorkView. We begin the course with easy-to-follow labs designed to help you understand the parts of a WorkView Solution and learn the configuration of each one of those parts. In the last lab we will build a Workflow Solution that routes a WorkView Object. This class is ideal for someone who wants to obtain a solid fundamental knowledge of WorkView.

003 Introduction to Application Enabler
Would you like to have documents tied to your line of business application allowing your end user’s to see the full picture without clicking? Join us as we begin the journey of integrating Line of Business applications to OnBase. We will drive through Application Enabler learning the basics of configuration to create that connection. You will leave this session with a basic understanding of how to configure a Line of Business application to retrieve and/or index documents as well as deployment options and new OnBase features!

004 Workflow XML Messaging - Creating Solutions using the Hyland Integration Hub New
The Workflow XML Messaging product enables integration processes to be handled directly within OnBase by adding XML message support to Workflow. We simplify the integration with systems that can output XML, JSON, EDI, HL7, etc, through the use of easily configured "On-ramps" and "Off-ramps". This allows for the consumption of messages, sending messages out of OnBase, and also managing responses. This all day class will begin by introducing you to the tools that will allow you to build your own solutions to integrate OnBase with third party applications and Line of Business systems. We will then expand your understanding of the Workflow Xml Messaging product, as we build different types of solutions to integrate OnBase with external applications using Workflow logic.

101 Intermediate Custom Solutions with WorkView
Let’s take your WorkView | Case Manager skills to the next level. Join us in this course as we learn how to map Attribute data to OnBase work item data (Folders, Forms, Uploads, Documents) using keyword type maps and associations to further expand the power of WorkView. We will leverage WorkView Triggers to perform calculations and update attributes. We will also explore the relationship between WorkView and Workflow in hands-on labs. Throughout the day you will experience some of the latest enhancements in action. Together we will find ways to improve your WorkView solutions.

102 Installer Recertification Sold Out
Installer Recertification is designed to qualify current OnBase Certified Installers (OCI) for an additional two years. This session is required to maintain an individual's OCI status. During this session, individuals will take the 6-hour exam to recertify

If an individual wishes to review the topics covered prior to the exam, they should plan to attend the “001 Preparing for Installer Recertification” course. If an individual has been expired on their OCI certification for 6 or more months, they should attend a regularly scheduled Installation Certification course instead.

OnBase Latest Enhancements & Features is designed to get you better acquainted with some of the exciting new modules, features, and enhanced functionality that OnBase has to offer. The session provides interactive, hands-on activities of the changes in OnBase and how they directly impact system administration as well as the new features and best practices for administrators.

112 Integrations Overview
OnBase offers a lot of ways to create integrations and choosing the right tool can be difficult. We’ll cover all of the available tools in the toolbox to help you identify which one is the right one for the job. We’ll focus on modules like DIP, Application Enabler, the Unity API and more.

113 WorkView User Interface and Experience Design New
One of the most visible parts of your WorkView | Case Manager solution is the User Interface. In this course participants will learn of general interface design best practices including examples of good versus bad design. Next, participants will learn how to leverage Cascading Stylesheets to change the rules of how Objects are displayed. Finally, the topic of Client Side JavaScript will be explored. This will include sample solutions commonly needed in most implementations.

117 Process Analysis: Lean Six Sigma in Today's World
Learn the basics of lean six sigma to more effectively assess qualitative and quantitative opportunities to improve process, product, and service outputs. Participants will gain real world examples of 5S, Visual, and Standard Work; how it applies in their work area; and where to start. They will understand the rigorous and systematic methodology known as DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control) used to reduce defects and variation.

161 Security Lab: Advanced OnBase Fortifications
OnBase security doesn’t stop at the user interface, be it your Configuration or your client. OnBase relies on network protocols that could be vulnerable. What does this look like to an attacker, and what could be exposed? These protocols have mechanisms for protection, but what does it take to configure them? This hands on lab will take you past the interface of security and show you how and why you need to protect your data in transit.
162 Introduction to Capture Process Designer
Capture Process Designer allows you to create custom scan queues with flexible routing logic and processes in the order you would like. This new functionality addresses many of the limitations to Legacy Scan Queues and enhances overall the processing of documents through a scan queue. This course will explain how these limitations are addressed using Capture Process Designer and also the fundamentals of Capture Process Designer and Custom Scan Queues. After taking this course you should have a base level knowledge of custom scan queues and how to begin using them within your OnBase Solutions.

163 Creating Documents and Packages with Content Composer New
Wondering how to easily *create* documents, and not just manage them?  In this introductory course, we’ll review the basics of creating customer communications with Content Composer.  Topics include producing, sending, tracking and archiving documents, directly from your line-of-business or ECM system.  We’ll distribute documents using modern tools like SMS text and ShareBase file sync and share, and archive them into OnBase.

We’ll introduce you to OnBase Studio and how to create a basic life cycle in Workflow. You’ll learn essential Workflow functions such as ad hoc tasks, rules, actions, and basic security in this hands-on approach to understanding the Workflow interface, interactions and possibilities.

165 Workflow Latest Enhancements
Workflow has grown substantially over the years. These changes modify not only Workflow triggers, but introduce new functionality for handling keywords, designing and migrating solutions, and logging functionality. This course will cover not only the changes, but how to appropriately add them to new and existing solutions.

166 Making the API and Workflow Work Better Together
This session is aimed at developers who have completed the OnBase API course, and are now looking for practical advice on how to use it. Specifically, this will discuss best practices and common design considerations when using the Unity Automation API to extend a Workflow solution. This will include coding considerations such as error handling and tricks with the built-in development environment. The course also emphasizes designing the solution to work with Workflow and OnBase functionality. If you are adding functionality to one or more extensive life cycles (possibly maintained by someone other than you), how do you divide up responsibilities between the Workflow and your custom code? How will you structure the communication between these two systems? If there are errors, will they be understandable by an administrator who doesn't know how to program? These questions will be addressed through hands-on labs. Please note that this is an advanced session and it will be assumed that all students are already familiar with the Unity API. 167 Process Analysis: Critical Tools for Building a Foundation
Learn the tools to more effectively analyze a process and identify critical components and opportunities. Participants will learn about flow, variation, cycle time, lead time, defects; and the tools used to understand where to start. “Improve this process” can mean a lot of things. In today's fast paced technology landscape, it has become increasingly important for applications to quickly and easily inter-operate with each other. SOAP and REST services exist to make this communication quick, simple, standard, and accessible. They allow IT staff to work in their language of greatest comfort and reduce the need to understand the complexities of an application's lower level APIs. Come work hands on with OnBase's capabilities to publish REST and SOAP endpoints. Participates will learn how to publish OnBase Web Services in minutes directly from OnBase Studio via simple wizard interfaces. The class will also explain how these services can be easily consumed via a myriad of programming interfaces and languages to do work in OnBase.

Explore the elements of a Brainware solution, understand its core capabilities, and learn how to incorporate it into existing and new solutions.

Note: It is helpful, but not required, to have a prior knowledge of Capture Process Designer before attending this course.

213 Email Driven Workflow Solutions New
Historically, Workflow designers have considered email as an output of Workflow to inspire user action and to inform individuals that there is work to be accomplished. With recent changes in OnBase surrounding Workflow and email, there is a far wider range of capabilities accessible by leveraging email and Workflow together. This course will explore how to effectively route email based on non-traditional information (beyond the from/to/subject line), how to craft email notifications for future ingestion, and how to ultimately allow users to control Workflow solutions through simple email messaging. This course will cover elements of Mailbox Importer, Outlook Integration, Distribution Services, Workflow, and WorkView. Come to see how email looks in Workflow, but stay to learn how a single letter can drive Workflow approval.

214 Building Test Systems - Getting Started
It is considered a best practice to have more than one OnBase Environment. Test, Development, and Disaster Recovery are common examples. Yet, the task of actually building out a test environment can appear to be very challenging. This hands-on technical course will walk System Admins and Installers through the most common steps to build out secondary environments from your current system. Special attention will be devoted to best practices and when to get your first line of support involved.

215 Workflow Timers & the Unity Scheduler
Workflow Timers are a powerful mechanism for automatically executing workflow tasks. In this course we will show how to use them effectively within your Workflow Life Cycles. We’ll discuss best practices for configuring and executing Workflow timer tasks. We’ll introduce the Unity Scheduler, which is the preferred product for scheduling and running Workflow timer tasks. We’ll compare the Workflow Timer Service with the Unity Scheduler and show how to migrate timer tasks from the former to the latter.

The labs will focus on the most common Unity API features, new Unity API features, and the different locations through the client where the Unity API can be leveraged. The labs are the perfect way for a developer familiar with the Unity API to try out new features and all of the new hooks in the Unity Client where a script can execute from.

267 Accidental DBA - Performance, Maintenance, and Caring for a Database
The DBA (Database Administrator) for many customers is not a DBA by training, but by accident. The goal of this session is to fill in the gaps for the Accidental DBA (sometimes referred to as an Involuntary DBA) and round out that person's knowledge of what is needed to successfully administer an OnBase database. Any individual that is responsible for the administration of an OnBase database, or wants to take back recommendations for the OnBase database to their DBA, should attend this class. The following topics will be covered in this technical session: -Instance and database configuration and settings (specific to OnBase) -Maintenance recommendations and strategies Capturing baselines and monitoring performance -Troubleshooting performance issues Attendees should be familiar with their current (or proposed) OnBase database configuration, and should be prepared to participate in discussions related to configuration and maintenance.

You’ve created a basic Unity Form, now what? Take your Unity Forms to the next level by adding robust functionality available right in the Forms Designer. What are those things that every administrator needs to know about successfully owning and growing your solution? What are those areas of functionality you never knew about or forgot existed that can help make your day to day administration easier, simpler, and clearer. What do you need to pay attention to in order to ensure your solution stays up to date and meets user needs? This session will address these questions and more as we explore best practices and tips for OnBase administrators. We’ll look at common misconceptions that create barriers to user adoption, and some of the techniques you can deploy to ensure the system runs smoothly for those times you are away from the office at, let’s say, a training conference. Join our OnBase professionals as they walk you through a day in the life of an OnBase administrator and collaborate with your fellow administrators in the session.
318 Docker: Looking at the Future of Deployment Technologies
Docker is a hot topic in the software engineering space these days. It allows for software to be packaged, deployed, and scaled more simply than ever before. We have a keen interest in making containers an available and preferred deployment option for all of your OnBase needs over the next few years. This course is intended to spread awareness and knowledge about the future of containers and the direction OnBase is headed. It will be agnostic to OnBase and is intended to be a general purpose Docker course.

319 Process Analysis: Influencing Change from any Position
We all know an OnBase implementation can mean a transformation for any organization and proper change management will be critical to its success. The historical view of change management has been to plan better and power through resistance. Part of the Process Analysis series, participants will learn a different, more effective approach to understand the forces behind change, recognizing the impact of change on people, and how to take ownership of your process and ability to implement process change.

462 Viewing OnBase Documents from Your External Application
If you need a quick way to display OnBase documents from your custom applications, you have a variety of choices. Many of these, called the “POP integrations”, can be used easily with little or no code development! If you use the Web Server, the Unity Client, or Application Enabler, you already have access to this powerful, easy to use functionality. Even experienced programmers often find that the POP integrations are the quickest and most effective way to integrate with their custom applications. However, developers have additional options such as API calls and Unity Client Automation. Because of the variety of options, this course is appropriate for all levels of OnBase knowledge. One of the most visible parts of your WorkView | Case Manager solution is the User Interface.
